Now just ClickPass to Area 51

We have enabled Clickpass in your accounts. Now you can login to Area 51 using your Yahoo!, Google, Facebook, Aim, Clickpass or any account that supports OpenID. The logins will be handled by Clickpass , a third-party agent that helps us log you into our system using your favorite account!

But you can still use your local account at Area 51 also to login.

Scheduled Down-time / Server Upgrade

Hello users,

Accessing Websites Become Even More Easy

The conventional method of accessing websites through Area 51 is now history!! Unlike conventional method, where you first visit Area 51 at http://area51.glibix.com, and then type the website address (say http://www.google.com) and then click browse, we now provide a quick browse method to visit sites through Area 51. You now can access any website through Area 51 by just typing http://[domain-name].area51.glibix.com/[path] into your browser's address bar.

For example, to visit http://www.google.com through Area 51 you just need to type http://www.google.com.area51.glibix.com in your browser.

To visit http://www.google.co.in/intl/en/about.html you just need to type http://www.google.co.in.area51.glibix.com/intl/en/about.html in your browser.

The Differences - Conventional Method

1. Go to http://area51.glibix.com
2. Type the url. Eg: http://www.google.com and click Browse.
   
3. Enter your login credentials, if asked.
4. You are at the site.
   

The Differences - New Method

1. Go to url in the prescribed format. Eg: http://www.google.com.area51.glibix.com
2. Enter your Area 51 login credentials, if you are asked.
3. You are at the site.

Area 51 is now OpenID enabled!. Yes, now you can associate your OpenID with your Area 51 account enabling you to login using the same.

To those who are new to OpenID:

• Now, you get to choose the login that's right for you. Get an OpenID today!

Existing users can attach their OpenID with Area 51 ain the account settings page while new users can register using their OpenID also.

Local account (i.e. without OpenID) is also available.
